John MacDonald
John is a Primary and Instrument instructor with several years experience and has trained in Sanford Florida at the Delta Connection Academy. For the last few years he has been flying in the Northwest as an instructor for a Japanese Airline training school and Oregon State University’s flight club. John is a Gold Seal flight instructor, this is the highest designation given by the FAA and is only given to instructors with a “very high student pass rate” on practical test. John enjoys showing student how to precisely control the aircraft by helping them understand what makes an aircraft fly. He also enjoys teaching his ground and practical classes, which are the foundation of the high student pass rate. His advice to those seeking instruction is to make sure you interview your potential instructor as you will be spending a fair amount of time and money with the person and flying needs to be Fun and Enjoyable.

Mathew Beesley

Mathew’s love of aviation began with his family history. His great Uncle flew P-47’s in WWII and this sparked a fire of interest in planes throughout the whole family. As a boy his father would take them to air shows which only increased Mathew’s fascination. Watching the career of his Uncle who is the chief pilot of the Joint Strike Fighter F-35 project and is the only man to have flown all three stealth fighter aircrafts has greatly helped to kindle his enthusiasm for flying. Mathew has been a pilot for about seven years now and has held his CFI, CFII and MEI ratings for over two and a half years. He has two amazing children and a wonderful wife. His passions outside of aviation include camping, the outdoors and a love of fly-fishing.
